There is a common of misconception around XML web services and what they provide as well as how they can best be utillised. Below are some key points that you need to consider before moving forward...

  • Technical Expertise Required

Many people hear of EDI solutions like XML and do not fully understand what is involved in making them work. XML service can be very complicated to integrate depending on the provider. You will 100% Guaranteed need to have a developer or technical specialist involved in you integration. Without development knowledge you will not be able to use this API.

As part of the sign up agreement, our EDI Implementation team require access and contact information for the developer responsible for creating you solution. Technical discussions often need to be had between parties and will need to be had direct with each technical specialist assigned to the task. This iradicates a lot of scope for confusion and misunderstanding.

  • Delivery and Shipping

As XML-3 can be used to deliver to any address VIP must restrict the delivery addresses to UK postal regions only. We cannot ship goods to your end user abroad or any where ouside of the UK. Access to order also limits the amount of available delivery methods VIP will supply as options to you. Delivery methods such as Sameday, Groupage and Exports will not be available for use. To deliver an order via any of the mentioned methods please contact your account manager to place your order.

  • Despatch Documentation

XML-3 gives you the ability to ship your orders to the end user or to your own warehouse. Because of this we offer the added facility of providing a custom despatch note with your orders being shipped to your customers. We do not send any VIP branded documentation with Direct Ship orders. If no bespoke document has been specified an unbranded document will be sent instead.
